At this year’s Canva Create event, the graphic design platform has made a quantum leap by introducing Visual Suite 2.0, a new collection of tools that promises to revolutionize the way users create content. From an AI assistant to support for spreadsheets, the new features are truly exciting.
The AI assistant, called Canva AI, is capable of performing tasks such as generating images from descriptions, creating documents, and offering design ideas. This functionality opens up a world of possibilities for designers and content creators.
New tools and features
But that’s not all, Canva has also introduced Canva Code, powered by Anthropic. This tool allows users to develop “mini-apps,” such as interactive meal plans, maps, and games. These applications can be shared via links or integrated into websites and presentations, transforming Canva from just a static layout tool to a more dynamic platform.
Canva’s co-founder, Cameron Adams, mentioned that the idea behind these innovations is to allow users to experiment with interactive prototypes, better reflecting the experience they seek to create.
The update also includes Canva Sheets, which combines classic spreadsheet functions with AI-powered tools like Magic Insights, Magic Write, and Magic Formulas. This integration promises to make data management and content creation more efficient and accessible.
Among the new features, Magic Charts for data visualization, Magic Resize for adjusting design dimensions without losing quality, and Bulk Create for quickly generating multiple versions of a design stand out.
Canva has also implemented its recent acquisition of Leonardo.Ai, adding a powerful Photo Editor that allows users to upload images and receive suggestions for customizable backgrounds. Additionally, the editor allows for easy modification of image elements.
Since its launch in 2013, Canva has evolved significantly, reaching over 220 million monthly active users in 190 countries and supporting more than 100 languages. With Visual Suite 2.0, the platform continues its path toward innovation and accessibility in graphic design.
