Uberduck has grown from a text-to-speech site into a small audio studio: speech in 70+ languages, singing and rap vocals, voice cloning, voice conversion and an AI song maker, plus an API. The home page demo lets you hear a voice without an account, which is exactly how it should be. The song maker, and anything that uses your account, asks you to log in. The paid plans are cheap on paper ($4, $9.99 or $60 a month), but read the license line before you pay: the cheapest plan is non-commercial, and commercial use and API access start at the Creator plan.

Uberduck is an AI audio site: text to speech in 70+ languages, sung and rapped vocals, voice cloning, speech to speech (voice conversion) and an AI song maker, in the browser and, on the Creator and Pro plans, by API. Is Uberduck free? You can hear its voices for free on the home page without an account, and there's a free tier once you sign up. Paid plans are Starter at $4 a month, Creator at $9.99 and Pro at $60, or $2, $5 and $30 a month if you pay for the year.
Is Uberduck free? The short version (Important)
- No signup: the text-to-speech demo on the home page reads sample sentences in the voice you choose.
- Free tier: there is one, but the public pricing page doesn't list what it includes. The song maker asks you to log in.
- Starter: $4 a month, or $2 a month billed yearly. 1,000 credits a month, non-commercial license.

What Uberduck does today
The home page now bills Uberduck as "AI Vocals and Text To Speech" and pitches it at agencies, musicians, marketers and creators. It lists four things: text to speech that can also sing and rap, voice cloning ("make custom voices and let them speak, sing, and rap"), speech to speech (it changes your voice into someone else's while keeping your style), and an API, on Creator and Pro, for speech, singing, rapping and voice conversion.
The newer piece is music. Uberduck has an AI song maker and says it takes care of songwriting, production and vocals from a short description of your idea, in 70+ languages and "hundreds of musical styles." Its examples are the useful, unglamorous kind: a video game theme, a product jingle, a channel theme, a birthday greeting. There's also a shelf of free audio utilities linked at the bottom of the site (an audio trimmer, MP3/WAV converters and the like).
How I tested it
I started with the demo on the home page, because it's the part you can try without signing up. Click English, and Uberduck picks a voice and generates a short sample sentence right away ("The sun is shining brightly today."). The English voice menu mixes voices with names (Ava, Joanna, Matthew…) and voices labeled with accent codes (en-US, en-GB, en-AU, en-IN). The two I tried from the accent-coded list generated and loaded their sample sentences every time.
Then I typed my own line into the box, the obvious next step, and that's where my session stalled: the player sat on its loading icon and never read my text, and with one voice the request simply failed. Maybe it was my browser, maybe the demo is meant to play its own samples. Either way, take the demo as a way to compare voices, not as a free text-to-speech tool. For your own scripts, you'll be signing up.
I gave the song maker an idea, "a short upbeat jingle for a coffee shop podcast intro," and pressed Create Song. It sent me to the login page, which offers sign-in with Google, a magic link, email or SSO. So the song maker, voice cloning and the rest are things you can try once you have an account, starting on the free tier.
Uberduck pricing: Starter, Creator and Pro
Here are the plans as the pricing page shows them, in US dollars. You can pay monthly or yearly, and paying for the year works out to about half the monthly price.

Creator and Pro also list AI image generation, custom AI image clones and AI-generated raps, and Pro adds a 24-hour support response time. The page doesn't say how many credits a minute of speech or a song costs, so the credit numbers are hard to turn into minutes. In practice, you'll only know how far 1,000 credits go once you've signed up.
Check the license line before you pay (Heads-up)
On the home page, Uberduck says AI music can be used commercially "on any paid plan." On the pricing page, the Starter card says "Non-commercial license." If you're making anything you'll sell or monetize, go by the plan card and pick Creator or Pro, or ask Uberduck before you rely on Starter. The page doesn't say whether US sales tax is included either, so check the total at checkout.
Is Uberduck worth it?
If you just want to hear what an AI voice can do in a minute, yes: the home page demo costs nothing and takes a couple of clicks. For real work, the plan that makes sense for most people is Creator. At $9.99 a month, or $5 if you pay for the year, it's the first plan with a commercial license and API access, which are the two things I'd actually be paying for in an AI voice tool. Starter is fine for personal projects and experiments, as long as you remember the "non-commercial" part.
What I'd like to see is the credit math made public. Until then, start on the free tier, check whether it lets you run your own script or song idea, and see how many credits it eats before you choose a plan.

A short official walkthrough of voice cloning: a few seconds of audio become a voice you can use for text to speech and for voice conversion. It's from 2024, so the screens may look a little different now.
Who is it for? For YouTubers, podcasters, game makers and musicians who want synthetic narration, sung or rapped vocals, or a quick jingle without booking a voice actor, and for developers who want all of that by API. If you only need clean narration for videos or presentations, a dedicated voiceover studio is a simpler fit.

- There is a free tier, but the public pricing page doesn't spell out what it includes.

How I tested it
On October 28, 2026, I used Uberduck's website, set to US English, without an account. I tried the text-to-speech demo on the home page with three English voices, typed a song idea into the music generator, and read the monthly and yearly plans on the pricing page, in US dollars (the yearly prices I also checked from a US connection). I didn't create an account, clone a voice, use the API or pay for a plan. The screenshots are from that session.
